Higher Education Statistics Agency – Career progression of 2004/05 graduates (September 2009)
This HESA research was based on the responses from over 41,000 leavers from 2004/05 who were asked what they were doing three and a half years later. 76.1% were in full time employment. To access the report, click here.

Life After Gaduation
A brochure which provides information, advice and guidance on the options and opportunities available to new graduates is now available on-line on the Directgov website at Choices after you Graduate.
Adult Advancement and Careers Service
The Department for Innovation, Universities & Skills (DIUS) has now issued its consultation document on the proposed adults careers service and pilot skills accounts are underway.

Deprivation and Low Attainment
In March 2009 DCFS published "Breaking the Link between disadvantage & low attainment - Everyone's Business". Poor Careers advice and lack of awareness of financial support were identified - see The Sutton Trust Report - HE & Deprived Communities October 2008.
PERCEPTIONS OF THE HEALTH SECTOR AS A PLACE TO WORK
A poll of 4,500 members of the public by Skills for Health and NHS Careers ranked Healthcare as the third most popular sector overall.
CAREERS IN HEALTH
A brand new on line one-stop IAG shop from Skills for Health signposts employers, advisers and individuals. It includes details of the new Careers Advice Service.
